Last night I watched an “exhausted” Paula Abdul throw a hissy fit after her two incredibly incompetent assistants were unable to produce a pair of sweat pants and white shoes for her on the mind-blowing premiere of “Hey Paula.” I would enumerate all the amazing behavior, but Slut Machine has already done so, complete with a montage of all of Paula’s best wasted moments. Check it out.
And then there’s this video.
I’ve gotta give these guys their proppers for taking a misogynistic, lustful ode to women with ample backsides, and turning it into a worshipful, chaste ode to women with ample, hardback bibles.
This is a parody of this video, which is equally amazing. I saw both of these ladies last night as they treated Los Angeles to a version of their New York show, Obsessed. They interviewed Tommy Wiseau, a vaguely European-ish man, who has a lazy eye, amazing hair, and who wrote, directed, and starred in a film called The Room. Below are a couple of scenes from the film.
I love the adr in this scene so much.
And lastly another episode of The Michael Showalter Showalter.
I was just thinking about The Room yesterday, so I added it to my Amazon wishlist. Who knew it was even available on DVD?
Also, I saw Mike Show and Ian Black last week. Man, Mike Show has got some chub going on with that stomach of his. I get the feeling he sits around in his apartment all day Microsoft Painting on pictures of Hitler.
I bought “The Room” recently, and I have to say it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. From start to finish, it is definitely one of the funniest and worst films ever. I’m particularly tickled by the fact that Tommy Wiseau had FIVE assistants during the production, one of whom was the actor who played his best friend. Apparently there is a monthly screening here in LA that I’m definitely going to check out.
Were the Michaels funny? I saw Show’s standup last year and really enjoyed it.
I now have someone new to keep an eye out for while hanging on the back of the truck in “the city”. This guy is gonna be huge time famous ( lazy euro christopher walken imposter). How does one get a film such as this financed? really.
Thanks for the congrats. settling down is the new single and getting some.
hey I love that ‘baby got book’ video! also the parody on welcome to my house is great. I remember reading about that video earlier, was that also on our blog? keep up the good work!
I did post the Brenda Dickson video awhile ago. Good memory. I would recommend checking out her website. It looks just like geocities, but without the ads, and has a hilarious “press release” section full of her thoughts.
omg that movie looks amazing.
It is at once the worst and one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. We’ll definitely have to watch it when you’re here.
