Addendum
Some more top films of the year to add to the list:
And then there’s Reprise, a Norwegian film that focuses on two young authors. If you have any sort of literary aspirations, I can’t recommend this more highly. Wasn’t sold on ‘The Wrestler’. I think they overplayed the “Life imitating art aspect” of Mickey Rourke and his redemption. When I thought of it more, all the things the movie was selling. Delusion, commitment, hyperreality, art imitating life in a tragic sense. That’s all found in the real product of wrestling - a million times better because it’s real and sadly/strangely not self aware. You’d be surprised how poignant a biographical Wrestling DVD is.
Todd Barry was funny though.
